JB, Muluzi salute Private Sector for supporting Cyclone Freddy survivors

Former state presidents Dr. Bakili Muluzi and Dr. Joyce Banda have applauded the private sector for their timely support towards survivors of Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

The former Presidents who are also goodwill ambassadors for the Tropical Cyclone Freddy recovery gave their appreciation on Friday at Mikolongwe Veterinary Station in Chiradzulu during the official launch of the construction of 59 houses for survivors of the Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

Dr. Joyce Banda praised companies and organisations who have come forward to assist the goodwill ambassadors with houses and food stuffs to the Cylone Freddy survivors.

She further asked other organisations to join in as there are still many houses that need to be built and appealed to Malawians who have the capacity to help to extend their helping hand in rebuilding the lost homes.

Concurring with his counterpart, Dr Bakili Muluzi also expressed appreciation to all the partners working with them through the ambassadorship for the support rendered to the survivors of the Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

He added that more needs to be done hence calling upon other well-wishers to step in.

Minister of Lands, Deus Gumba praised the goodwill ambassadors for their unwavering commitment towards the survivors of the Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

During the event, Nyasa Group of Companies, Gift of the Givers, Red Cross and others donated maize flour tents, cooking oil and other assorted items.
