Two people are reported dead while four others are battling for their lives at Kasungu District Hospital after being struck with a lightning in the district on Tuesday afternoon.
Kasungu District Hospital spokesperson Catharine Yoweli has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Yoweli, the two who are from the same family were brought to the hospital while already dead.
She further said four others are receiving treatment at the hospital.
The country started receiving rains on Tuesday morning as predicted by the Department of Weather and Metrological services.
The department warned people in the South and Central region to stay alert.
