Malawian man dies while in transit to South Africa

A 33 year old man identified as Palani Malikebu who boarded Matours Bus has died while in transit to South Africa.

Malikebu is said to have collapsed to death while in transit.

Matours Bus Service has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

“Matours Coach Scheduled for South Africa from Lilongwe which travelled on Sunday and arrived on Monday in Johannesburg travelled safely. All passagers that travelled on this day safely arrived in Johannesburg.

Sadly we understand one of the passengers who travelled on this schedule passed on Wednesday in Julees. And in the process of trying to find his identification they found a ticket of the bus which he traveled on and in this case in Matours Coaches,” reads part of the statement.

Added the statement: “An audio from one group. Latest News Kumabus , suggests that this person was in Julees but had no clear place to stay and was on Wednesday found dead.”

The deceased hailed from Mvela ,Dowa ,Traditional Authority Chiwele ,village Kaula ,near support Battalion, according to another source.
