Man arrested for robbery in Limbe

A 42-year-old man identified as Simon James Mayadi is in police custody at Limbe Police Station suspected to have broken into a China Shopping Centre Building in the area and committed an offence of robbery.

Reports indicate that during the night of October 16, 2023, Mayadi with his colleagues allegedly broke into the said building by cutting through the roof.

The suspects went away with various items that included solar accessories, assorted clothing items and cash amounting to K800,000.00.

Upon receipt of the report, Limbe Police detectives instituted investigations and managed to arrest Mayadi at Magomero Trading Centre where he was selling some of the stolen items.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to trace the remaining culprits.

Simon James Mayadi hails from Zimenyani Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mpama in Chiradzulo District and will appear before court soon to answer a charge of robbery .
