Shepherd Bushiri Foundation bails out 36 Students at MUBAS

The Shepherd Bushiri Foundation (SBF) has donated K9.5 million to 36 underprivileged students at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS).

The students were on the verge of missing out on sitting for their examination due to lack of fees.

According to Duncan Zgambo, Chief Executive Officer of Shepherd Bushiri Foundation, they have done this in order to develop education in the country, especially for young people who will also have the opportunity to develop other people.

Executive Dean of the School of Education, Communication and Media Studies at MUBAS, Dr Kizito Elijah Kanyoma, praised the foundation saying that it will not only benefit the school but the whole country because the recipients are Malawians.

One of the recipients of the grant, Lawrence Fundeni, who is in the third year of his studies in Geological Engineering, said that the grant has given him encouragement that he can do well in his studies.

Currently there 4777 students enrolled at MUBAS and about 4,000 students are in need of help.
