The High Court in Lilongwe is granted Member of Parliament for Blantyre City Central Chipiliro Mpinganjira an injunction restraining the estranged Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey from calling for elective conference on December 15, 16 2023.
The Injunction comes barely hours after DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nakhumwa officially announced his interest to contest for the post of Presidency during the party’s elective conference.
Granting the injunction, Judge Simeon Mdeza also blocked Jeffrey wa Jeffrey from fulfilling all what National Governing Council (NGC) delegates agreed during the December 6, 2023 indaba agreed.
Effort to talk to Jeffrey wa Jeffrey on the matter proved futile.
