As various political parties are rejuvenating ahead of the 2025 general election, Leadership with Compassion Party (LCP) leader Dr. Sally Kumwenda has become the first female to declare interest to contest as President in the forthcoming polls.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with faceofmalawi reporter, Kumwenda promised a better Malawi especially for the youths and women once voted into power next year.
“I urge you Malawians that you must consider voting me into power as I am your only and last hope if you miss this opportunity things will continue to befall Malawi. This is just the beginning of serious calamity to befall us.
“God has given you so many chances to make you learn how wrong you are at choosing and voting for leaders. It’s high time you need to realize that the strategies used by people who call themselves as a “zipani za ndale” Because LCP is not Chipani Cha Ndale But a political party with true leadership with the guidance of God,” are not conducive to choosing the rightful leader,” said Kumwenda.
She added: “While all these ndale parties just take everyone into government for any other reasons other than integrity, In LCP that’s not the case. I am scrutinizing people to choose only those who are true leaders with Compassion to go with me into the government to lead the people of God. All people with nasty behaviors are not included in my executive. Luckily I am able to know them because they show me their characters.”
She said her Party will put much focus on uplifting the youths and women by putting them into leadership positions.
Kumwenda went further to say that the Party will hold its elective conference this year where people will be given a chance to elect people into various position in the party.
Once voted into power next year Kumwenda will become the first female President in the country to be elected through the ballot.
Leadership with Compassion Party was launched in 2017 with an aim of giving hope to the youth.
