3rd Year Nursing Student Commits Suic!de After Taking Pesticides in Thyolo

A 23-year-old nursing student of the Malawi College of Health Sciences, George M’bwana, has died after he allegedly took pesticides in Thyolo.
The district police spokesperson, Rabecca Kashoti, has confirmed the demise on George and said the incident occurred yesterday on 2 February around 1100hrs at Magombo village, in the area of senior chief Nchilamwela in the district.
Meanwhile, Thyolo district health office spokesperson, Fanuel Makina says that M’bwana was until his death a third-year student doing practicals at the district hospital.
But reports have linked the suicide to betting.
