A gruesome murder has shocked the residents of Emmasdale, Lusaka in Zambia, after a man was discovered burnt beyond recognition inside a Toyota Corolla along Sheki-Sheki Road on Tuesday night.
According to Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga, the incident occurred around 19:48 hours, and police were alerted later by Issah Ahmed, a Villa Elizabetha resident who received a tip from a neighbourhood watch member, John Nkata.
Ahmed and neighbors attempted to put out the fire, only to discover a body trapped in the driver’s seat, with legs and hands tied using a wire strongly suggesting foul play.
The vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla (ACX 6276), has been identified, but the victim’s identity remains unknown. The body has since been moved to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) mortuary for a postmortem and identification.
Police investigations are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
