Two children have been injured after a wall of their house collapsed on them in Mwanza, as Cyclone Jude continues to wreak havoc in Malawi.
According to Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) spokesperson Chipiliro Khamula, one of the injured children has been admitted to Mwanza District Hospital, while the other has been referred to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre for further medical attention.
Meanwhile, three people remain missing in Nsanje after a boat they were traveling in capsized due to strong winds and heavy rains caused by the cyclone.
So far, at least 3,600 people have been affected in eight districts: Mwanza, Neno, Machinga, Chikwawa, Phalombe, Zomba, Thyolo, and Mangochi. Relief efforts are ongoing as authorities assess the extent of the damage.
