Balaka Police Arrest 11 Suspects for Various Crimes

Police in Balaka District have arrested 11 suspects in connection with various criminal offenses.
According to Balaka Police Public Relations Officer Gladson M’bumpha, the suspects include Chikondi Wilson, Lloyd Smart, Joseph Matabwa, Enock Mtewa, Promise Kamende, Arnold Julius, Ndawona Mabungwe, Stafford Seleman, Emmanuel Zuze, Vincent Luwenga, and Mussa Wyson.
M’bumpha stated that the suspects were apprehended during a police operation conducted in Balaka on the night of March 27, 2025.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon to face charges, including housebreaking, armed robbery, and causing bodily harm, among others. Police continue to investigate the incidents as part of efforts to curb crime in the district.
