Man To Spend 10 years in jail for defiling 13-year-old child in Zomba

Mulunguzi Magistrate Court in Zomba has sentenced 30-year-old Muhammad Adini to 10 years imprisonment for defiling a 13-year-old minor.
Police prosecutor Peter Sosola informed the court that Adini defiled the child between October 2024 to January 2025, violating Section 138 of the Penal Code. Everything was laid bare after the minor fell pregnant.
Adini pleaded guilty to the charge. Senior Resident Magistrate Mercy Bonongwe agreed with the prosecution’s argument that a harsh sentence was necessary to prevent similar crimes. Consequently, she sentenced Adini to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour.
Adini is from Mpinda Village, Traditional Authority Chamba in Machinga district.
