Thyolo Health Officer Dies in Motorcycle Crash at Khonjeni Turn-Off

Information reaching this publication indicates that an Environmental Health Officer (AEHO) under the Thyolo District Health Office has died in a motorcycle accident that occurred this afternoon at Khonjeni Turn-Off.

The district’s Health Promotion Officer, Fanuel Makina, identified the deceased as Pilo Mponda, who was seconded to Luchenza Municipal Council.

Makina said Mponda was on his way to attend a meeting at Thyolo District Hospital when he collided with a Kabaza motorcycle operator who failed to indicate before turning off.

Mponda sustained severe injuries and succumbed to them shortly after the incident.
