TP Mazembe owner Moses Katumbi has revealed plans to facilitate a move to Europe for rising Malawian footballer Patrick Mwaungulu, following the player’s impressive run of form.

Katumbi said Mwaungulu’s consistent performance both during his loan spell at Don Bosco and recent appearances for Mazembe—has proven his readiness for a higher level of competition. “With the strong connections I have with European clubs, we believe Mwaungulu can transition smoothly and succeed abroad,” he said.

Felix Ngamanya Sapao, the agent who brokered deals for both Mwaungulu and Lanjesi Nkhoma, confirmed the development in an interview with Nation. “Patrick has truly impressed during the playoffs, and we believe he’s ready for the European stage,” Sapao stated.

Mazembe also wants Mwaungulu to feature in the upcoming CAF competitions, a move expected to further boost his profile ahead of a potential transfer.

News of the possible European move has excited fans and analysts, many of whom view Mwaungulu as one of Malawi’s brightest football prospects.
