15-year-old female footballer collapses and d!es during match in Mexico

A tragic incident occurred during a girls’ football tournament in Mexico when 15-year-old Atziri Ledif Galeana Valencia collapsed and died.
She was playing for Chivas Lcz against Toriz in the final match when she reportedly suffered a suspected heat stroke in the 72nd minute.
The game was played amid a heatwave, with temperatures soaring above 34°C. Medical personnel rushed to help her with CPR, oxygen, and cold compresses before transporting her to the hospital.
Sadly, Atziri was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Michoacan State Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into possible health and safety breaches.
Chivas paid tribute to Atziri, calling her a “champion” and a beloved member of the club. Liga Deportiva de Guacamayas, the tournament organizers, also expressed their condolences and shared a floral tribute.
All remaining tournament matches were suspended out of respect for Atziri’s memory.
