
Political Leaders Join Rastafarian Movement March for Peace in Blantyre

Government and Political leaders joined the Rastafarian Community today in Blantyre as they were marching to promote peace and unity ahead of Malawi’s upcoming elections on 16 September 2025.
The march called ‘One Love’ started from clock Tower in Blantyre Town and ended at Nyambadwe ground. Many people including members of different political parties like Malawi Congress Party (MCP), United Transformation Movement (UTM), Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), and United Democratic Front (UDF) joined the event.
One of the members for Rastafarian Movement Las Ndindi Marley from Zomba said the main aim of the march is to bring all Malawians together regardless of political differences.
Speaking on their side Minister of information Moses Kumkuyu and DPP Youth Director Norman Chisale, who were both present during the march urged Malawians to say no to violence and embrace peace and harmony in this democratic society.
Kunkuyu also appreciated the Rastafarian Community for leading an important event as it will help reduce violence in democratic society.
