People’s Party (PP) is calling on all aspiring Members of Parliament and councilors to avoid using bad or offensive language during political rallies as Malawians are only remaining with 84 days before the polls on September 16.
PP’s Eastern Region Governor, Maxwell Sakwiya said speaking in a respectful way will help avoid violence as the country moves closer to the elections.
Sakwiya explained that hateful or obscene language can lead to tension and fights among supporters, he also acknowledged people in the Eastern Region for their strong support of the party.
He said he is confident that the PP will win in the upcoming general elections and also added that the party wants to see a peaceful and respectful campaign season, where all candidates focus on issues and solutions, not insults.
