One Dead, Another Injured in Chitipa Road Accident

One person has died and another sustained minor injuries after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a Toyota Sienta on Tuesday night at Ngoya Junction along the Chitipa–Karonga Road in Chitipa District.

Chitipa Deputy Police Spokesperson Mathews Mfune confirmed that the deceased, Eman Kabwilo, was a passenger on the motorcycle, which was being ridden by Winston Kuyokwa, who escaped with minor injuries.

Mfune said the Toyota Sienta, driven by Twendeghe Muyira, was travelling from Lufita Market towards Chitipa District. Upon reaching Ngoya Junction, the driver allegedly lost control due to speeding and collided with the motorcycle.

Police further said Kabwilo sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Chitipa District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
