Police Appeal for Identification of Murder Victim in Lilongwe

Police at Lilongwe are appealing to the general public for assistance in identifying an unknown male who was murdered by unknown criminals on April 9, 2026, at Tseketsani Village under Traditional Authority Mazengera.
According to a statement issued by Khumbo Sanyiwa, Lilongwe Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, the body was discovered on April 10, 2026, after officers received a report of a deceased person dumped in a maize field.
Police officers from Nathenje, working alongside medical personnel from Matapila Health Centre, visited the scene where they observed signs of violence on the body. Motorcycle tyre marks were also found, suggesting that the victim may have been robbed and later dumped.
The deceased is described as:
- Black in complexion
- Approximately 1.65 metres tall
- With small dreadlocks
Members of the public who may have a missing relative, friend, or acquaintance matching this description are urged to report to Nathenje Police Post, Lilongwe Police Station, or any nearest police station to assist with identification.
The body is currently being kept at Kamuzu Central Hospital mortuary.
