Council Worker Arrested for Alleged Theft of Equipment in Chikwawa

A 36-year-old Chikwawa District Council worker, Shaganti Stazio, from Mwasiya Village near Maseya, is in police custody on suspicion of stealing various items from the council.
According to a letter seen online, in February this year Stazio allegedly broke into the council’s equipment room and stole several tools, including 65 shovels, 80 hoes, 199 picks, an additional 250 shovels, and 243 machetes.
He is expected to face charges of burglary and theft.
