Murd3r Suspect Amaan Khasiya Transferred to Maula Prison

Police have confirmed the transfer of murder suspect Amaan Khasiya to Maula Prison, where he is being held on remand in connection with a case that allegedly occurred in Salima District.

Central East Region Police spokesperson Esther Nkwanda confirmed the development, stating that Khasiya is suspected to have unlawfully caused the death of 22-year-old Abdul Aziz Panjwani.

According to Nkwanda, the incident is said to have taken place on April 4 at Wheelhouse Cottage in Salima, where Khasiya allegedly ran over the deceased following a misunderstanding, leading to his death.

She further revealed that a gunshot was reported at the scene; however, the individual responsible for discharging the firearm has not yet been identified, and investigations are still ongoing.

Meanwhile, police are compiling the case file, which will be submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal review and further action in accordance with Malawi’s laws.
