Police, MDF Arrest 14 in Crime Crackdown in Chitipa

Police in Chitipa District, working jointly with the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) from Meru Camp, have arrested 14 suspects during a security operation targeting crime hotspots in the district.

According to Mathews Mfune, Deputy Spokesperson for Chitipa Police, the suspects were arrested for various offences, including possession of cannabis sativa, illegal possession of petroleum products, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

Mfune said the operation was aimed at enhancing public safety and restoring order in the district, with support from MDF officers.
