15-Year-Old Dies After Attempting to Defend Brother in a Fight in Ntchisi

A tragic incident in Ntchisi District has resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy following a violent altercation involving his brother.
According to Ntchisi police spokesperson Salomy Zgambo, the deceased has been identified as Limbikani Manda, a resident of Chikhwakhwa Village under Traditional Authority Kalumo.
Police reports indicate that the incident occurred on Sunday when a fight broke out between Limbikani Sabwe and Billy Manda. During the confrontation, Billy Manda sustained injuries after being bitten on the neck and ear.
In response to his brother’s injuries, Limbikani Manda reportedly intervened, armed with a stick, in an attempt to retaliate. However, in the course of the altercation, he was struck on the head, causing him to lose consciousness.
He was initially rushed to Khuwi Hospital for medical attention, but his condition did not improve. He was subsequently referred to Ntchisi District Hospital, where he later died.
Police have since launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
