Four Arrested in Balaka Over Chamba, Assault and Suspected Stolen Property

Police in Balaka District have arrested four suspects on various offences, including possession of Cannabis Sativa, unlawful wounding, and possession of property suspected to have been stolen.
Balaka Police Publicist Gladson M’bumpha identified two of the suspects as Mayeso Jango, 35, and McLoud Kamtema, 49, who were allegedly found in possession of Cannabis Sativa, commonly known as chamba.
According to M’bumpha, the two were arrested this morning following a police search operation prompted by a tip-off.
Police say Jango was found with loose Cannabis Sativa and 35 twists, while Kamtema was allegedly found with loose Cannabis Sativa, 10 twists and some medical drugs.
M’bumpha further said police also arrested Safunana Jackson, 39, for allegedly being found in possession of suspected stolen property, and Precious Harry, 22, for unlawful wounding.
Jackson was reportedly found with nine metal pots and several metal spoons at his house and failed to explain ownership of the items, while Harry was arrested for allegedly wounding another man.
