Stolen ESCOM Conductors Turned Into Cooking Pots, Three Nabbed

Police in Blantyre have arrested three people suspected of stealing and recycling Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited aluminium conductors into cooking pots for sale.

The suspects were arrested following investigations into alleged vandalism of ESCOM infrastructure in Mulanje and Blantyre.

Police recovered aluminium conductors, nine pots, cutting tools and other equipment believed to have been used in the operation.

ESCOM has since thanked members of the public and police for their cooperation and has urged communities to continue reporting vandalism cases.
