Unidentified Man Found Dead in Lilongwe River

The body of an unidentified man has been found floating in the Lilongwe River near Winners Chapel, apparently in an advanced state of decomposition.

Kawale Police spokesperson Sub-Inspector Mabvuto Precious Phiri said people who were collecting sand from the river spotted the body and alerted the local chief, who subsequently informed the police.

Phiri said the deceased was wearing a black T-shirt and trousers. A post-mortem examination established that the cause of death was drowning.

The deceased will be laid to rest soon.
