Police Rescue Two Suspected Vegetable Thieves from Angry Mob in Monkey Bay

Police in Monkey Bay have rescued two men from an angry mob that allegedly assaulted them on suspicion of stealing vegetables from a garden.
The suspects, identified as 38-year-old John Leman and 64-year-old Martin Zambasa, were reportedly caught stealing vegetables, which had already been packed into four sacks.
Monkey Bay Police spokesperson Kondwani James confirmed the incident, saying villagers began assaulting the two men after apprehending them. Police officers responded promptly and rescued the suspects from the mob.
The two men sustained serious injuries during the assault and are currently receiving treatment at Monkey Bay Hospital.
