The main Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) for the first time since 1994 General Elections, will field candidates in all constituencies and wards during the 2019 Tripartite Elections.
In the past elections, the party fielded candidates in few constituencies concentrating mostly in its stronghold, the Central Region.
According to a memo released by the party, male parliamentary aspirants will pay a fee of K50 000 while their female counterparts will pay K40 000. And all aspirant ward councillors will pay K10 000.
The party has urged all aspirants to start campaigning for primaries, stressing that it will not impose candidates on voters.
