Well-known comedian Eric Mabedi underwent a successful surgery for a kidney transplant at the weekend, faceofmalawi can reveal.
According to information at hand, both Mabedi and his donor are recovering well at the hospital in India.
Government through Ministry of Health and Population sponsored Mabedi’s trip with money amounting to MK20 million and the comedian left the country in October.
Mabedi’s illness came to light following a plea by grouping dubbed Friends of Eric Mabedi led by Higger Mkandawire.
Meanwhile it is not known as to when Mabedi will be discharged from hospital.
