MANGOCHI – On 13th December, 2018 at around 0100hrs at Mangochi Escom office along Mangochi National bank, there was an accident involving a motor vehicle registration no Cz 5147 Toyota sienta driven by S / Insp Joe Sambani aged 39 years from Vimbeti Village T/A Chitela, Chiradzulo district, C/O Mangochi Police Station box 133 Mangochi (deceased). He was driving from the direction of Mangochi National Bank heading Mangochi Police line with two passengers on board.
Upon arrival at Mangochi Escom he lost control of the Motor vehicle and swerved to the extreme offside where he hit a tree and rest on the Mangochi Escom gate.
Following the impact S/ Inspector Joe Sambani sustained severe head injuries and died upon arrival at Mangochi District hospital before receiving any treatment while Mr Enock Mlamba aged 34 years from Nankhukwa village, T/A Kawing, Machinga district O/c builder C/O Box 13 Ntaja and Loveness Kanoda aged 26 from Luwanda village. T/A Mbawela, Thyolo District C/O Box 49 Thyolo escaped with minor injuries.
The motor vehicle got extensively damaged.
