Unknown Criminals Break Into House of Congolese National in Dowa, Walk Out with Items Worth K948,000

Police in Dowa are looking for unknown criminals who broke into a house of a Congolese national and stole items worth K948, 000.

The property belonged to a 23-year-old Congolese national Edmond Ilunga of Katanga Province in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Dowa Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sub Inspector Gladson M’bumpha confirmed the incident saying it happened between the night of August 25 to August 26 2020 at Kawale 2 in Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa.

He said during the particular night, the victim was fast asleep in his house and all the doors were properly locked and intact.

“Upon waking up in the following morning, he was surprised to discover that some of the items which included Plasma TV, IPhone, one speaker, sound card, mixer, laptop bag, Laptop, Dongle and headsets all valued at K948 000.00 had been stolen,” M’bumpha stated.

The victim reported the matter to police after he failed to trace the missing properties.

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and recover the items.
