Escom On Aggreko’s Neck Over K3.9 Million Worth Fuel

Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited  (Escom) is demanding a refund of 3.9 billion kwacha worth of fuel which was misappropriated at Aggreko earlier this year.

This has been disclosed when Escom met the parliamentary committee of energy, mining and natural resources in Lilongwe.

Escom had been supplying Aggreko with fuel and bought power from the same company before vice President Saulos Chilima ordered a halt to the deal.

Director of Finance at Escom Clement Kanyama has hinted that investigation and reconciliation is on-going to ensure Aggreko refunds the money.
