Suspected cattle rustler assaulted to death in Kasungu

Unknown male person has died after being assaulted to death in Kasungu.This occurred on March 17, 2021 at Mnduka Village.

It is alleged that the man and his two friends went to the house of Funwell Mbedza to steal cattle.

As they were trying to open kraal, the owner heard them and decided to check. That was when he saw the three in the kraal.

This prompted the owner to alert villagers who came in large number and managed to apprehend one criminal while the other two immediately bolted.

The suspect was assaulted to death by the villagers and his body was burnt.

According to information gathered from the owner of the house, the suspect said he was from Mzimba District.

Body was taken to Kasungu District Hospital where postmortem conducted and revealed that death was due to suffocation secondary to burning.
Efforts are being made to arrest the suspects.
