
TUM in court over teachers strike

The Industrial court is today scheduled to hear an interparty hearing between Teachers Union of Malawi and the Tonse Alliance government on the ongoing teachers strike.
The Tonse Alliance wants to obtain an injunction over the ongoing teachers strike describing it as illegal.
On Friday. the TUM leadership failed to appear before court on grounds that they needed more time to prepare.
On Thursday the government made an application against TUM, notifying it of the said court hearing.
