50 Families Back To Dzaleka Refugee Camp

Following a court order stopping government from relocating refugees and asylum seekers to Dzaleka Refugee Camp, over 50 families have already arrived at the camp yesterday.

Many Burundian owned shops are closed in townships and locations since by  yesterday 28 April they were  supposed to be in Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

Camp Manager, Hilary Namakhwa said that some refugees who were renting houses belonging to those who went outside the camp have been evicted and now have nowhere to call home.

Meanwhile the refugees and asylum seekers who have already arrived at the camp say they cannot go back to town or villages as they have already sold their property.
