Two arrested for stealing cattle

Police in Zomba are keeping in custody two men, Thokozani Machila, 26 and Steven Musowa, 35, for allegedly stealing 18 cattle.

According to Zomba Police Public Relations Officer, Patricia Sipiliano, on the night of April 4, 2021, the suspects broke into a kraal of Stephano Mpanda who is based at Kachulu area in the district.

Sipiliano said Mpanda realised about the missing cattle the same night when he woke up to inspect his livestock as a routine activity.

“On April 28, 2021 the same suspects broke into the kraal of a Mr. Chigo and stole eight cattle and the case was reported to the police again,’’ said Sipiliano.

“Police investigated and apprehended the suspects, and recovered the stolen cattle,” she said.

The suspects will appear before the court of law to answer charges of theft of cattle.
