BE SOLUTION PROVIDERS, CHAKWERA URGES UNILIA GRADUANDS

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has advised graduating students in various universities in the country to help provide solutions to the country’s development challenges.

Dr Chakwera made the remarks at Rafik Institute in Mzuzu during the 14th congregation of the University of Livingstonia of the CCAP Church.

“Building a new Malawi lies in the hands of everyone so use your education to help develop the country, said Dr Chakwera.

The president then advised the graduating students not to give up even if the going gets tough.

Speaking earlier the church’s General Secretary Rev. William Tembo commended government for providing technical, material and financial support to the Synod’s education.

The university’s Vice Chancellor Rev. Dr Timothy Nyasulu commended Dr Chakwera for accepting the invitation to grace the occasion.

“Your acceptance to our invitation is an honour to us as a synod. Your leadership has proven that it is possible to exel in times of hardships,” said Rev. Nyasulu.

A total of 521 students have graduated, bringing the total number of graduuants to 3033 since its establishment in 2003.

The University of Livingstonia has four compuses namely: Laws at Khondowe in Rumphi, Ekwendeni College of Theology and Ekwendeni College of Health sciences at Ekwendeni in Mzimba and the newly established Kaning’ina Campus in Mzuzu City.

The synod has further plans of establishing a fifth campus at Rafik Institute.
