Govt says all wedding ceremonies are restricted to an hour

As the country continues to register a surge in COVID-19 cases, government through Ministry of Health has instituted new measures to curb further spread of the pandemic.
Among the new measures, government has ordered that all Wedding ceremonies be held within a period of an hour.
Minister Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda who is also Co-Chairperson of the Presidential Task Force announced the new measures in Lilongwe today.
“Wedding ceremonies should not take more than one hour and people should exercise all Covid-19 preventive measures,” said Chiponda.
Chiponda has since reduced the number of attendees to less than 100.
The Minister has also banned all overnight prayers.
