The High Court in Lilongwe has given opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa and three others who are challenging their expulsion from the DPP 14 days to amend and prepare documents related to the case before it starts.

The Court has also granted the defense an equal period for the preparation of the case.

Other than Nankhumwa, the three others who were expelled from the party for allegedly setting parallel structures are Secretary-General, Grezelder Jeffrey, Treasurer General, Jappie Mhango as well as another member, Yusuf Nthenda.

When the court convened on Tuesday before High Court Judge Simeon Mdeza, the claimants in the case asked the court to be allowed to amend some statements on their summons to which the Judge granted them 7 days. He also granted another 7 days to the defence for the preparation of the case.
