Police in Mzimba have arrested four Raiply Malawi Limited security guards for allegedly stealing hydraulic oil worth K7 600 000.

Mzimba Police Deputy Spokesperson John Nyirongo has identified the suspects as Smart Nyirongo (40), Alfred Qumayo (39), Abel Kaonga (38) and Alex Ngoma (41).

Nyirongo says the company’s mechanical engineering supervisor started noticing the decline of oil in May this year.

“The management thought of planting a closed-circuit television (CCTV) in rooms to track the culprit which has eventually exposed the guards in question,” adds Nyirongo.

The four are likely to answer the charge of theft by servant which is contrary to section 286 of the Penal Code.
