Train Driver Dies In An Accident In Nigeria

A train driver has been killed in an accident after the train left its track accidentally on its way to Kano from Lagos at Farin Ruwa, near Jaji in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State in Nigeria.

Nigerian Public Relations Officer, Northern Regional District of the Nigeria Railways Corporation (NRC), Malam Abdullahi Alhaji confirmed adding that the accident took place on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Bala Kawu.

According to Alhaji, Kawu until his death Kawu was on his way to Kano where he was assigned to transport drinks.

Reports indicate that the accident might have been caused due to vandalism of the slippers and other accessories on the railway track.

Attempts to recover the remains of the deceased are underway.
