Political Analyist Potan Faults Tembo on trimming Candidates At MCP Convention, Says Chakwera Likely To Carry The Day

Malawi’s finest young political analyst Joseph Potani has faulted Tembo’s decision to let the delegets trim the number of candidates at MCP Convention slated for this Saturday at NRC in Lilongwe.

According to Potani, this is simply a premeditated move by Tembo to frustrate other candidates who have been accused of not being long time serving members of MCP.

“I think the best thing that Tembo could have done was to let all the candidates exercise their political freedom to participate at the convention. Mind you, the issue of serving the party for 5 years does not fit in the interplay because all of us were at one point members of the MCP.

“Looking at the calibre of some of the aspirants like Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Lovemore Munlo, MCP has great potential to win the forth coming Tripartite Elections. One wonders what the big man may be planning but we all just have to keep our fingers crossed and watch as the podium unfolds,” said Potani.

Among the contesting candidates, Potani picked Dr. Chakwera as the “chosen one” and likely to carry the day.

“Well, so had as the question is, I believe Chakwera stands a better chance given his popularity and charisma. No wonder his interest to contest made so many headlines in the media,” he concluded.
