A 30-year-old man identified as Blessings Holder of Kangulu Village, Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza District was on November 9th, 2022 poisoned by unknown criminals who wanted to steal his car.
Information from Kanengo Police Station confirmed of the incident saying that it happened around 19:00 hours at Malawi Institute of Management (MIM) Junction and it was reported by Mr. Stain Holder a brother to the deceased.
The victim was hired by unknown person who introduced himself to be Christopher to take him from Area 10 ( Malawi College of Accountancy) to Malawi Institute of Management ( MIM) where he pretended to visit his girlfriend.
“While he was driving, the suspect advised the victim to pass by Area 18 to take another man ( full particulars not advised) whom they accompanied together before proceeding to MIM,” information shared said.
It further revealed that; after reaching at MIM junction, Christopher told his friend who accompanied them at u 18 to share Ukwanju juice and biscuits to the victim whom after taking them, he severely fell sick and lost his consciousness.
“The victim struggled to get out from the car after observing himself in the hands of robbers and after the suspects realized that security officers working at MIM premises have observed the situation, they immediately ran away and left the car dumped beside the road,” it added.
Later on, the security guards approached to the scene whereby they found the victim in a very critical condition and without hesitation they rushed him to Deayang Hospital for medical attention where it was confirmed that he was poisoned after medical examination was conducted.
Currently, investigations are underway to trace and apprehend the suspects while the victim is under intensive care unit receiving medical treatment.
