More people are dying from natural disasters – DODMA

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DOMA) has said there is a rise in number of people who are dying from natural disasters.

According ton reports recorded by DoDMA, the number of people dying from the disasters has risen to 42 within a week from 21.

According to DODMA, the figure carries 24 districts which have been affected by lightning, floods and strong winds.

Spokesperson for DODMA, Chipiliro Khamula said 41, 944 people have been affected in total.

Khamula said 28 people died of lightning where as 14 people died of stormy rains and strong winds.

85 people have sustained various degrees of injury and they are receiving treatment in different health facilities.
