Man killed by unknown thugs in Mulanje

A 68-year-old man has been killed in Mulanje District and police have launched a manhunt for the assailants.

Mulanje Police Spokesperson Innocent Moses has identified the deceased as Lyton Thomas from Nankwakwala Village in the area of Traditional Authority Nkanda in the district.

Moses said the incident happened on the night of March 27, 2023 at Nankwakwala Village in the district.

“Salani John, 19, reported to police that his uncle was found lying dead in his house after being attacked by unknown criminals,” Moses said.

Officers from Mulanje Criminal Investigations Department (CID) visited the scene together with a medical practitioner from Chambe Health Centre, and postmortem results showed that death was due to loss of blood.
