A woman and her daughter have been found dead this morning along the Mtete River at Dambo village in Mchinji district.
Henderson Wilmington north who is son to the deceased woman said that his mother, Sibetina Layisi, aged 70, and his sister Emily Wilimoti, 53, yesterday went to fetch firewood at a nearby bush but never came back.
He said the two bodies were found this morning with multiple wounds and dumped into the river.
The deceased came from Dambo village in the area of Traditional Authority Mavwere in Mchinji district.
Police are yet to comment on the matter.
