Minor Forced To Eat Raw Green Maize After Caught Stealing In Salima (Watch Video)

Malawians have raised eyebrows following a video which has gone viral on social media showing a male child forced to eat raw maize & maize stalk after being accused of stealing.

The video which has made almost everyone cry and felt sorry for him and his family, is showing a boy crying for help after being his hands tied behind his back beaten up and water poured on him.

It is reported that the boy went stealing fresh maize to get her mother who is living with disability and had been sick for food to eat, as they had stayed for 2 days without food.

He didn’t have time to do piece-works which he usually does to fetch for his family because of her mother’s condition.

However, Malawian Netzens have asked government and other stakeholders to intervene in boy’s situation to seek legal action towards the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Salima District social welfare officer Edgar Kasiyafumbi, has assured the nation that justice for the boy is a must and as part of social welfare, they went on ground yesterday to interview the mother and the child and provided counselling to the family.

The boy name withheld hails from Mdola Village, T/A Kambwili in the district.
