4 Arrested in Mchinji for Theft, Break-ins, and Malicious Damage

Police in Mchinji have arrested four men for various offenses including theft, malicious damage, and break-ins. The suspects have been accused of terrorizing residential areas within the district.

According to Mchinji Police Publicist Limbani Mpinganjira, the arrested men are Shadreck Gabriel (20) and Wilson Banda (25), who were apprehended for tampering with and stealing waterboard prepaid meters worth K120,000. Jackson Phiri (21) and Eric Manguwaza (20) were arrested for breaking into homes in Robert 4, 5, and other locations.

Gabriel is from Robert 4, Traditional Authority Zulu, Banda from Nyoka Village, T/A Nyoka, while Phiri and Manguwaza are from Mphanje Village, T/A Khombeza in Salima.

Mpinganjira confirmed that the suspects will appear in court soon and urged residents to remain vigilant, especially during the festive season, to prevent further criminal activity.
