Airtel Malawi Appoints Aashish Dutt as New Managing Director

Airtel Malawi has appointed Aashish Dutt as Managing Director of the Company with effect from 1st February 2025.
A statement from the mobile phone network service provider signed by its board chairperson, Kayisi Sadala, said Dutt is taking over from Abdul Khayyum Shaik, who has been the Acting Managing Director since November 1, 2024.
“Dutt has over 28 years’ experience in telecommunications,14 of which have been in executive management. He has a strong commercial background in telecommunications across multiple geographies in India and Africa and he was appointed Sales and Distribution Director for Airtel Malawi in January
2017 and subsequently promoted to Chief Commercial Officer in January 2021,” reads the statement in part.
