Man arrested for having sexual intercourse with a minor in Nkhotakota

Police in NKhotakota have arrested Ashim Mndala 64-years-old for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 9-year-old girl.

Upon arrival, the guard allegedly took advantage of the girl and forced her into his guard room, where he sexually assaulted her. He later gave her two thousand kwacha in an attempt to prevent her from revealing the incident.

When the victim returned home, she narrated the entire ordeal to her mother and showed her the money she had been given.

Following these revelations, the matter was reported to Nkhotakota Police Station the same night. During questioning, the victim confirmed that Mndala had carnal knowledge of her in his guard room at his workplace.

The victim was referred to Nkhotakota district Hospital for medical examination, and results have confirmed penetration.

Police have since arrested the suspect, who is expected to appear before court soon to answer a charge of having sexual intercourse with a girl minor.

Mndala Ashim hails from Mnthamatongo village in the area of traditional authourity Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota district.
